  1. What is GroupOS?
GroupOS is a directory of adult discussion groups:  straight, gay, lesbian, and bisexual.  Such groups are frequent found in Yahoo Groups, but there are many other sites that support them.  This site is free, both for users and group owners; however we do accept a small amount of advertising to defray our operational costs.
  2. What is spam?
Generally spam is defined a UCE, unsolicited commercial email.  In the context of discussion groups, it is a bit more difficult to define.  Some groups are supported by advertising, so ad banners and links to advertisers, in and of themselves, are not spam.  We consider the following to be spam:
Groups that have no reason to exist except to promote commercial enterprises.
Groups that send commercial-only mailings to members.
Groups that do not honor 'no mail' or 'remove' requests.
Groups that sell or give your information to advertisers.
Generation of numerous spam complaints is considered prima facie evidence of spamming activity.
  3. How do I get my group listed?
First, add the required link back to the main page of your group, per the instructions here:
        http://www.groupos.com/link_back.htm
Then, navigate to the category where your group would logically fit and click Add Link.  If Add Link is not available, you are not in a category where a link can be added (i.e., you need to navigate to a lower level in the directory).  Enter the required information, taking great care to type your URL correctly.
  4. I submitted my group but it never got listed.  Why?
Probably one or more of the following conditions was true at the time we reviewed your group:
There was no link back to GroupOS from your group's main page.
There was an excess of advertising (e.g., more ads than content).
We received complaints of spam traced to your group.
You group was associated with hate, child porn[1] or other illegal activity.
  5. How do I contact you?
Please click here and fill out the contact form.
  6. Why The Number of Characters are Important in the Link Back Code?
Many eGroup providers (Such as Yahoo and MSN) only allow so many characters in your groups description.  At GroupOS.com we try to keep the number of characters in our link back code to a minimum.
  7. What is a Sponsored Link?
